Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Saturday (July 22) claimed that the Manipur government has denied her permission to visit the violence-struck state to interact with survivors of sexual violence. She was supposed to visit the northeastern state on Sunday (July 23). Taking to Twitter, Maliwal expressed her displeasure over the state government's decision to suddenly take a 'U-turn' and deny her permission to visit Manipur. As per information, Swati Maliwal on Friday (July 21), wrote to the director general of police (DGP) of Manipur on her plans to visit the strife-torn state following the surfacing of a video that showed two women being paraded naked by members of a rival community.
