Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday praised the women's reservation bill but called it a "distraction and diversion tactic from the demand for a caste census".
Addressing a press conference, Rahul Gandhi said, "Women's reservation is a good thing, but we found two footnotes - one is that the Census will have to be done before implementation of the bill, and the second is delimitation."
Raising questions on the timeline for the implementation of the bill, Rahul Gandhi said, "Nobody knows if this will even be implemented. This is a distraction and a diversion tactic from the OBC census."
