Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad, who on Sunday visited the family of the victim in Hathras, has been booked for violating Section 144. Along with Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad, around 400 others, who are yet to be identified, have been booked by the Uttar Pradesh Police.
Bhim Army’s Chandrashekhar Azad led a rally to Boolgarhi village in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district on Sunday. He was initially prevented by police from proceeding to Hathras. Chandrashekhar Azad was, however, later allowed to visit the family. After he was granted permission, Chandrashekhar Azad met the family of the 19-year-old Dalit girl whose death has sparked nationwide outrage.
A 19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped at a village in Hathras by four men on September 14. After her condition deteriorated, she was referred to Delhi's Safdarjung hospital where she breathed her last on Tuesday.
