Many government and private hospitals faced shortage of oxygen cylinders in Maharashtra amid coronavirus. Also, a decision by the Maharashtra government to restrict oxygen manufactured in Maharashtra to the state itself has triggered panic in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh relies on Maharashtra for supplying a substantial part of its requirement of oxygen that is used for medical purposes in hospitals that are treating Covid-19 patients.
