Landmark day in battle against Naxalism: Amit Shah on 170 Naxals' surrender

Union Home Minister Amit Shah hailed India's fight against Left-Wing extremism as 170 Naxals surrendered in Chhattisgarh. 

Amit Shah said, "Our policy is clear. Those who want to surrender are welcome. And those who continue to wield the gun will meet the wrath of our forces."

The surrenders, which include high-profile leader Mallojula Venugopal Rao, also known as Bhupati, come as the Centre pushes forward with its goal of a 'Naxal-Mukt Bharat' by its March 2026 deadline. The bulletin details the comprehensive surrender and rehabilitation policies in place, which offer financial aid and vocational training to encourage extremists to join the mainstream and abandon the path of violence.
