Love Jihad law not on cards: Karnataka Law Minister

Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said the state government will bring a law to ban 'love Jihad'. "The UP government has recently passed an Ordinance. I have instructed officials to source information about that. They will study what other states have done and then a law banning love jihad for sure will be promulgated in Karnataka," he said.

Bommai also slammed former CM Siddaramaiah's comments that inter-religious marriages have been happening in the county between Hindus and Muslims from the time of the Mughals. Bommai said Siddaramaiah is still living in the Mughal era.
