The Naxals are trying to gain a foothold in the urban areas of Chhattisgarh. Rajnandgaon has witnessed an increase in red terror activities in recent times.
Just a day before polling in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls, the Naxals killed a BJP MLA and three security personnel in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh. The Naxals are planning to spread their terror network beyond Bastar and Dantewada.
