Pahalgam attack was original escalation: Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said that the Pahalgam attack was the original escalation in the recent tensions between India and Pakistan, adding that the Indian Armed forces only responded to the escalation yesterday. 

Briefing the media on Operation Sindoor, Vikram Misri said, "The attack of April 22 in Pahalgam is the original escalation, and the Indian Armed forces responded to that escalation yesterday."

He further added, "India's response is non-escalatory, precise, and measured. Our intention is not to escalate matters, and we are only responding to the escalation. No military targets have been selected. Only terror infrastructure has been hit".
