Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has claimed a threat to his life before a Pune court. This claim was made during a defamation case stemming from his comments on Veer Savarkar. Rahul Gandhi stated he has apprehensions about his safety due to political issues and his earlier comments on Savarkar. He said the complainant in the case is a direct descendant of Nathuram Godse. Rahul Gandhi stated there is documented history of violence and anti-constitutional tendencies linked to the complainant's lineage. He said, "History should not be allowed to repeat itself," referring to Mahatma Gandhi's assassination. Rahul Gandhi also claimed his "vote chori" allegations triggered political opponents. He cited two public threats from the BJP, including one from a Union Minister. An application has been filed in the Pune court seeking protection and fair proceedings. The court has taken the application on record.
