Rajnikanth to launch TV channels?

A Rajini TV channel is in the works. Yep, that's right -- although it could also be called Thalaivar TV or Superstar TV.

The Rajini Makkal Mandram, a launch vehicle for the actor's prospective political party, has begun the process of registering trademarks for these names. A letter from Rajinikanth to the registrar of trademarks has gone viral.

Rajinikanth's PR manager says the letter wasn't meant to slip out. Sources said one of the reasons for this initiative could be that the media has misquoted Rajinikanth many times. Rajinikanth, 68, whose glittering cinema career spans decades, announced his entry into politics last year.
