West Bengal government declares holiday on Rath Yatra for first time

The West Bengal government announced a holiday on Rath Yatra this year for state government offices for the first time this year. The Supreme Court on Monday gave its nod for holding of the annual Rath Yatra on Lord Jagannath in Odisha's Puri, with certain restrictions to curb Covid-19 spread.
