Major rejig in TMC, MP Abhishek Banerjee made national general secretary

In a major organisational reshuffle, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Saturday appointed MP Abhishek Banerjee as the party's national general secretary. Abhishek Banerjee is the nephew of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee. The decision was taken during the first meeting of the TMC's working committee following the party's landslide victory in the recently-concluded West Bengal Assembly election.
