Shocked, devastated:  Chidambaram slams Modi govt for slapping PSA on Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti

Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram expressed "shocked" after the Narendra Modi government's booked former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers -- Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti-- under the contentious Public Safety Act (PSA) in Srinagar.

Under PSA, authorities can detain a person for up to two years without a trial. In a tweet, P Chidambaram said, "Detention without charges is the worst abomination in a democracy." For more, watch this video.
