The SP-BSP alliance has announced the seat sharing formula for 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In a press conference, BSP leader Mayawati said, "BSP and SP will contest on 38 seats each. Two Lok Sabha seats have left for other parties."
The alliance has decided not to put up any candidates against Congress president Rahul Gandhi in Amethi and former party chief Sonia Gandhi in Raebareli, but that's about all the SP and BSP are willing to concede to the Grand Old Party.
Uttar Pradesh has 80 Lok Sabha seats in all.
This will be exactly after 26 years that both the parties will be coming together to contest the elections against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
