Stalin chairs all-party meet to push for stopping Mekedatu project

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin chaired an all-party meet to push for stopping Mekedatu project on Cauvery river. Stalin said that Mekedatu project would affect the livelihood of Tamil Nadu farmers.

The all-party resolution urged the Centre not to give permission to Mekedatu project.

Tamil Nadu has been opposing the Medekatu project on the grounds that it will lead to a reduction in the quantum of water from Cauvery to the state awarded by the supreme court and that it was against its farmers.
