Successful day after elimination of Jaish target responsible for Sunjuwan attack: J-K DGP Vaid

Jaish-e-Mohammed operational commander Mufti Waqas, the mastermind of a deadly attack on the Sunjuwan Army camp in Jammu, has been killed in a joint operation by the Indian Army, the Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force.

"Today has been a successful day when we eliminated a Jaish target who was responsible for all attacks including Sunjuwan attack... 2018 will be even more suscessful in terms of encounters. Investigation will determine the truth of Shopian encounter," said Jammu and Kashmir DGP SP Vaid.

The 50 Rashtriya Rifles launched the operation based on specific intelligence inputs on the presence of a terrorist in Hatiwara in Kashmir's Awantipur.
