Telangana CM KCR wants new 'vaastu-compliant' secretariat, move sparks civilian protests

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is making headlines once again for all the wrong reasons. Rao wants a new secretariat building in Hyderabad because the current one is not vaastu-compliant. This has irked many people in Hyderabad and massive protests have also begun saying there is no need for a new one which aims to destroy a popular ground here.

The Telangana government wants to acquire a 60-acre land belonging to the defence authorities for building the new secretariat. It could cost whopping Rs 500 crore to build the new structure.

The new secretariat is being planned even as Telangana is battling a severe drought but, exhorbitant splurges are not a newly acquired trait of KCR.

"All the civilians including children, youth and elders are against the chief minister's decision to build the new secretariat at the land belonging to the defence authorities," said a local.
