TMC, BJP spar over MLA Satyajit Biswas's murder

Bengal's Education Minister Partha Chatterjee blamed the BJP for the murder of Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Satyajit Biswas, who was shot dead on Saturday.

Chatterjee termed the murder as the handiwork of the BJP party.

Later in the day, Bengal Police named BJP leader Mukul Roy in the FIR in connections with the murder. Roy is a former TMC MP who joined BJP last year after his relations soured with Mamata Banerjee. However, Roy has denied the allegations and said the murder was the result of infighting within TMC.
