TMC suspends Sheikh Shahjahan but BJP turns up heat on Mamata

The All-India Trinamool Congress (TMC) suspended Sheikh Shahjahan for six years from the party a few hours after the Bengal police arrested him on Wednesday night. The move led to the TMC demanding a similar action from the BJP against its members facing similar allegations. However, BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi fired back, accusing Mamata Banerjee of defending Sheikh Shahjahan in the state assembly.
