Uddhav Thackeray backstabbed us, so we wanted revenge: Devendra Fadnavis

The former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray backstabbed the BJP and formed a government with Congress and the NCP, so the BJP wanted revenge, said Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the India Today Conclave in Mumbai on Saturday.

We wanted revenge and backed Shindeji, he added.

"When we were in opposition, the way we were treated by the Shiv Sena, the way Uddhav Thackeray backstabbed us; we were looking for a chance for revenge..... BJP will fight all coming polls in the state with 'Shinde ji's Shiv Sena'.

Fadnavis also revealed that it was he who had suggested Shinde's name to the party central leadership for CM post.
