Uddhav Thackeray govt wins Maharashtra floor test with 169 MLAs

The Uddhav Thackeray government easily cleared a floor test in Maharashtra after the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party walked out of the house protesting against the manner in which proceedings were held in the state's assembly. Uddhav Thackeray easily won the floor test, getting the support of 169 MLAs (the halfway mark in the assembly is 145).

Former CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, speaking to media outside the assembly after leading the walk-out, said constitutional norms and rules were violated Saturday morning while conducting the floor test in the Maharashtra assembly.
