Vikas Dubey case: Suspended Chaubeypur SHO arrested for tipping off gangster

Tightening the noose on police officers involved in the escape of Vikas Dubey, the UP Police on Wednesday arrested former Chaubeypur SHO Vinay Tiwari and a sub-inspector KK Sharma for allegedly tipping off the dreaded gangster.

Kanpur police arrested Vinay Tiwari and Bikru beat in-charge KK Sharma after a full day of questioning.

Both police officers were present during the raid conducted against history-sheeter Vikas Dubey in Kanpur but fled the site of the incident during the operation. They have also been accused of tipping off Dubey before the raid which led to the death of eight Kanpur police officers.

The arrests came hours after the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) killed an aide of gangster Vikas Dubey in Hamirpur and arrested six others in separate encounters in Kanpur and Faridabad for their alleged role in last week's Bikru ambush.
