Watch: Rafale aircraft make Republic Day flypast debut

The newly inducted Rafale fighter aircraft featured in Republic Day parade on Tuesday and culminated the flypast by carrying out the 'Vertical Charlie' formation. The 'Vertical Charlie' formation is when an aircraft flies at low altitude, pulls up vertically and conducts rolls before stabilising at higher altitude.

Earlier, five Rafale fighter jets were formally inducted into the Indian Air Force on September 10, 2020, at a ceremony in the Ambala air base. The induction of the fighter jets was seen as a major boost to India's air power capability.
