We always stay far away from politics, says CDS General Bipin Rawat

General Bipin Rawat, who today took charge as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), said that Army always stays far away from politics.

On being asked about his take on Opposition's statement that Army should stay away from politics, General Rawat said, "We always stay very far away from politics. We have to work according to the directions of the Government in power."

He further added that CDS will have to be neutral within the service and among the services.
