Zila panchayat passes resolution to rename Aligarh as Harigarh

The Aligarh zila panchayat passed a resolution seeking to rename Aligarh as Harigarh. The proposal was passed with no opposition in the panchayat meeting on Monday. A final decision in this regard will be taken by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The panchayat is also mulling to rename Aligarh airport after BJP leader Kalyan Singh.
