TMC leader returns 'cut money' to PM Awas Yojana beneficiaries in Bengal

A local Trinamool Congress leader in Namkhana, South 24 Parganas, was seen returning cut money to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries amid an ongoing crackdown on corruption in West Bengal. The cut money was initially collected from 45 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Each beneficiary had allegedly paid ₹5,000 to local leaders to facilitate their housing funds under the central scheme. The return of the money marks a significant development for the beneficiaries who had previously paid the bribes to secure their housing allocations.
