WHY TRAFFIC INCREASES BEFORE BAKRID
Bakrid, also known as Eid al-Adha, usually sees a sharp rise in vehicle movement due to festival shopping and livestock transportation. Temporary goat and sheep markets attract large crowds, especially during evening hours.
Areas such as Tolichowki and Rethibowli often witness long traffic jams during the days leading up to the festival because of roadside animal markets and increased public movement.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has advised residents to cooperate with officials and follow diversion instructions to avoid delays.
