A rose gajra, maang tikka for Pakistani actress Sanam Saeed's debut Cannes look

Pakistani actor Sanam Saeed made her Cannes debut this season, and her look read like a love letter to her country.

Wearing an ivory custom Hussain Rehar ensemble, the actor leaned heavily into craft. The look drew on mukaish, zardozi and mirror work, with reports suggesting close to 50 artisans and over 2,300 hours of work behind it.

The halter-style neckline framed the upper body with precision, allowing the dense embellishment to take centre stage. Instead of relying on exaggerated volume, the outfit built its presence through surface detailing and layered textures, particularly towards the hem, where the fabric softened into a more fluid, almost draped finish.

A cape-like dupatta draped across her arms completed the backless, gharara-inspired outfit.

The strongest cues, however, came from the styling. A maang tikka and a white rose gajra tied around her braid grounded the look instantly. Jewellery by HANIF included a diamond ear cuff, forehead piece and ring, stayed sharp and minimal.

The makeup kept things simple: even-toned skin, a soft highlight, defined eyes and neutral lips. Built for flash, not filters.
