"Paris Haute Couture Week has always represented the highest expression of craftsmanship, creativity, and fashion," Malhotra told Vogue India.
"To present our house on this stage for the first time is incredibly special, not just for me, but for the artisans and ateliers who have been part of this journey over the years. My work has always been rooted in Indian craftsmanship and storytelling, and I look forward to sharing that perspective in a global couture conversation."
The Fall-Winter 2026/2027 Haute Couture Week will run from July 6 to 9, 2026, featuring 30 fashion houses presenting their Fall 2026 couture collections. Rahul Mishra, a Paris Haute Couture Week regular and the first Indian designer to showcase there in 2020, will also participate and present on the opening day of the event.
Manish Malhotra's journey from costumes to couture
Manish Malhotra is one of the most prominent names in India's high-fashion industry and is now partly owned by Reliance Brands Limited. He started his journey as a costume designer in Bollywood films, giving us some of the most iconic fashion moments - like Urmila Matondkar in Rangeela, Kareena Kapoor in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Aishwarya Rai in Mohabbatein, among so many others - and went on to become a sought-after name not only among celebrities but also in the wedding scene for his glitzy ethnic pieces, and now for his statement jewellery as well.
Lately, he has been expanding his international presence. He now operates a flagship store in Dubai, closed Dubai Fashion Week earlier this year, has attended the Met Gala - the fashion world's most exclusive event - for the past two years, and has seen his jewellery line and couture creations embraced by global stars such as Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez.
This Paris debut represents the culmination of Malhotra's efforts to establish himself beyond the Indian market, transitioning from Bollywood's favourite designer to the head of a globally recognised couture house.
