An afternoon of love, laughter: Inside Javed Akhtar's 80th birthday celebration

Screenwriter-lyricist Javed Akhtar celebrated his 80th birthday on Friday. His wife, Shabana Azmi, organised an intimate birthday party for him, which was attended by actor Urmila Matondkar, who shared pictures from the celebration on social media.

The guests, including Urmila Matondkar, Aamir Khan, Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Shankar Mahadevan, Vidya Balan, and Tanvi Azmi, sang the birthday song for Javed Akhtar as they posed for a group photo.

Urmila described it as an "afternoon full of love, laughter, affection, admiration and great camaraderie" as some of the "best talents" in the industry came together to celebrate Javed Akhtar's birthday.
 

The music composer and his wife, Sangeeta Mahadevan, also posed for a picture with Amitabh Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.

The Rangeela actor also shared a picture of herself with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan.

Jaya Bachchan was also present at the celebration, along with Aamir Khan, Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Shankar Mahadevan, Vidya Balan, and Tanvi Azmi.
