Actors body chief Poonam Dhillon says Ranveer 'could have come to us' amid Don 3 row
Poonam Dhillon expressed disappointment that Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) was not approached in the Ranveer Singh-Don 3 dispute. The association says it cannot take a stand until it knows the full facts.

Cine and TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) president Poonam Dhillon has expressed disappointment over the Federation of Western India Cine Employees’ (FWICE) non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh following his abrupt exit from Don 3. Dhillon pointed out that neither FWICE nor the actor had approached or involved CINTAA in the matter, despite the association being the official representative body for actors and performers in the Indian entertainment industry.
Speaking to Variety India, Dhillon said, "It's a very strange situation to be in because it's one of our members, but neither the artist nor the producer or the Federation informed us or took us into their confidence. We could have tried to resolve the issue. That is what our association is there for - to resolve such disputes or any problems that arise between an actor and a producer."
She added that the situation was unusual because the actor involved is a member of CINTAA, but the association was not informed or taken into confidence.
"Ranveer, being a part of CINTAA, could have involved us and approached us so we could have tried to resolve the issue in a more amicable way. I would like every actor to honour their commitments in the best possible way. If there are any issues, they should handle them and, if needed, approach the association so we can resolve them together," she added.
The veteran actor refrained from commenting further on the matter as she does not yet have complete information about the ongoing dispute.
Manoj Bajpayee reacts to Don 3 row
Manoj Bajpayee also reacted to the row. Speaking to India Today at the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Governor, Bajpayee said people in the industry were following the developments through social media and did not have detailed information. He said, “I must tell you one thing: all the people who are in this industry are only reading it on social media and we don’t have detailed information about it. But all we can say as colleagues or as fellow fraternity members is that we hope the matter is sorted out soon.”
Ranver Singh's Don 3 row
The dispute surfaced after Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3. Reports claimed that Farhan Akhtar and Excel Entertainment sought compensation over alleged pre-production losses estimated at around Rs 40–45 crore. The matter was later taken to the Producers Guild of India, following which Farhan approached FWICE.
The committee issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer on May 25, alleging that the actor did not respond to repeated requests to appear before the federation and discuss the matter. FWICE adviser Ashoke Pandit claimed that the production team had already spent heavily on hotel bookings, overseas travel, location recce and other pre-production arrangements before the actor exited the film.
