Vikrant Massey on his gruelling TV days: Had to shoot for 110 hours non-stop
Vikrant Massey opened up on the relentless schedule during his initial days as a television actor. He recalled 110 hours non-stop at that time.

Actor Vikrant Massey, who turned 39 on April 3, 2026, recalled the intense working conditions he experienced during his early days in television. He admitted that there was a time when he shot for 110 hours straight without stopping.
In an earlier interview on the YouTube podcast Unfiltered by Samdish, Massey opened up about the demanding schedules while working on popular daily soaps like Balika Vadhu, Dharam Veer, and Baba Aiso Varr Dhoondo.
He said, "Back in the day, artists would shoot for 18-20 hours. There came a time when I had to shoot for 110 hours straight without stopping."
Vikrant also revealed how scripts were often modified to maximise his presence on screen during hectic production cycles.
"They had no choice but to use me as a filler. Day shifts were melting into night shifts. There was no sense of time. Funnily, when they finally packed up, it wasn't even for me. An actor who came to the set at 10 am got upset and walked out by evening," the actor added.
Vikrant Massey on television's regressive content
Vikrant said that despite the wealth he earned as a young actor, he made the choice to leave the small screen behind during the most successful phase of his TV career.
"I earned a lot on TV. I bought my first house at the age of 24. But all that regressive content on TV was happening simultaneously, and I felt like coming out of the world and trying my luck in cinema," the actor went on.
He admitted that while his bank balance grew, his peace of mind suffered. This clarity only came after he had successfully taken care of his parents and settled his various financial obligations.
Vikrant was last seen in director Vishal Bhardwaj's O'Romeo, released on February 13, 2026. The film featured actors Shahid Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Disha Patani, Avinash Tiwary and Tamannaah Bhatia in key roles.
Vikrant will next be seen in Netflix's upcoming series Musafir Cafe, featuring actors Vedika Pinto, and Mahima Makwana in key roles.
