Through storm and silence: Actor Darshan's wife marks anniversary after jail visit

Kannada actor Darshan's wife shared a moving anniversary post about strength and storm hours after meeting him in Bengaluru's jail. The couple marked their 23rd wedding anniversary on May 19.

Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa Shrinivas's wife Vijayalakshmi Darshan shared a moving anniversary post on Tuesday, hours after meeting him at Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in Bengaluru on Monday. The actor, who is currently lodged in jail in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, was granted permission for the visit under prison rules.

The couple, who got married on May 19, 2003, marked their 23rd anniversary on Tuesday. In her note shared on Instagram Stories, Vijayalakshmi wrote, "I will hold your hand through every storm and every silence. Even when situations try to pull us apart, my heart will always choose you. And even if the world stands against you. I'll stand beside you, choosing you through it all (sic)."

According to ANI, Vijayalakshmi visited the prison along with their son, and only three people were allowed to meet the actor for about 30 minutes. Visuals of the family leaving the jail premises were shared by the agency on X on Tuesday.

The interaction was conducted under the supervision of prison authorities and monitored through CCTV cameras, with conversations recorded as per protocol.

Not just that, to mark the occasion of their anniversary, Vijayalakshmi also shared a post to wish her husband on May 18.

About Darshan-Renukaswamy case

Actor Darshan is among those named in the chargesheet in the Renukaswamy murder case. The victim, a 33-year-old resident of Chitradurga, was allegedly killed, with his remains found in Bengaluru’s Kamakshipalya area on June 9, 2024.

In October 2024, the Karnataka High Court granted interim bail to Darshan for six weeks in the case. The Government of Karnataka later challenged the order in the Supreme Court.
