Actor Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam mystery thriller Drishyam 3 continued its steady theatrical run over the weekend, with the film witnessing a slight jump in collections on its first Sunday. The film earned Rs 13.95 crore nett (gross minus the taxes) in India on Day 4, taking its total domestic nett collection to Rs 54.55 crore, according to trade website Sacnilk.
Keralam remained the film’s strongest market. The state alone contributed Rs 9.70 crore nett on Sunday. On Saturday, the film had collected Rs 13.70 crore nett across India, making Sunday’s numbers a marginal but notable rise.
The Malayalam version continued to dominate the overall collections, earning Rs 11.75 crore from 3,186 shows with an occupancy of 69.35 per cent. The Telugu version added Rs 1.20 crore, while the Tamil and Kannada versions contributed Rs 65 lakh and Rs 35 lakh respectively. Across languages, the film was screened in 5,270 shows on Sunday.
Drishyam 3 had opened to Rs 15.85 crore nett on Day 1 before collecting Rs 11.05 crore nett on Day 2. The Sunday growth has helped the film maintain a stable pace at the Indian box office through its opening weekend.
Internationally, the thriller has also recorded strong numbers. The film’s worldwide gross currently stands at Rs 141.34 crore, including Rs 63.34 crore gross from India and Rs 78 crore from overseas territories. Audiences in the Gulf region, North America and Europe have contributed significantly to the film’s overseas performance.
