Inside Ram Charan's meeting with PM Modi: Discussion on Peddi, idea of Viksit Bharat
At a Delhi event, Ram Charan recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking what his next film, Peddi is about. The actor used the exchange to underline the film's focus on 'Viksit Bharat', and the themese explored in it.

Actor Ram Charan recently revisited his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, revealing that he had asked him about his upcoming film, Peddi. Speaking at a promotional event for the film in Delhi, the actor said their conversation revolved around rural India, sport and the evolving stories emerging from Indian cinema.
Recalling the interaction, Ram said PM Modi was particularly interested in the core idea behind the film.
“The last time I met our Honourable Prime Minister Modi Ji in Delhi, he asked me what Peddi was about. I told him it’s about an evolved India and empowering our villages,” Ram said.
Speaking more about the concept and inspiration for Peddi, the 41-year-old actor said, "Our archery team in India largely comprises tribal athletes. Inherently, they possess that talent for the bow and arrow. None of them are from cities or YMCAs; they have come from tribal communities. It was wise of the archery authorities to recognise that talent in villages and among tribals."
He added, "The last time I was in Delhi, I met Mr Modi, and he asked me what the film was about. I told him, ‘Sir, it is about how Viksit Bharat is about empowering of our villages. Waisa hi concept hai Sir. (It carries the same concept, Sir).”

He added that the Prime Minister then shared a story from West Bengal about how sport transformed an entire community over generations.
“Modi Ji shared a story from West Bengal, where decades ago a footballer from a small village represented India, and today over 85 people from that same village play football,” the actor said.
Peddi is rooted in culture: Ram Charan
Speaking further about the themes explored in the film, Ram highlighted how several South Indian films today are rooted in smaller towns and villages rather than urban backdrops.
“The films we are making in the South today are deeply rooted in our culture and soil. They are not city-based, but set in villages and towns. Our archery team in India has many tribal players because they naturally possess that talent. It’s beautiful when such talent from villages gets recognised,” he said.
Ram had also met PM Modi in New Delhi last year along with his wife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, during an interaction linked to the launch of the Archery Premier League, spearheaded by Anil Kamineni.
