Prabhas gave me courage during depression: Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu
Jagapathi Babu has recalled how Prabhas reassured and supported him during depression. He also praised SS Rajamouli and his family for being humble and fair.

Tollywood actor Jagapathi Babu has opened up about a difficult phase in his life and the unexpected source of comfort he found in Prabhas. Ahead of the release of Peddi, the actor spoke candidly about battling depression and recalled how Prabhas stood by him with emotional support and encouragement.
When Prabhas helped Jagapathi Babu through depression
Describing Prabhas as one of the most compassionate people he has met in the film industry, Jagapathi Babu said the actor remained deeply caring and approachable despite his massive stardom.
Recalling the period, Jagapathi Babu shared that he had reached out to Prabhas while the latter was shooting in Georgia. Speaking to Moneycontrol, he said, “I was going through depression and wanted to speak to him. At that time, Prabhas was shooting in Georgia. He told me, ‘Darling, I am there. Tell me your problem, I will solve it,’ and gave me a lot of confidence.”
The actor said Prabhas continued to support him even after returning from the overseas schedule and personally met him during that phase.
“His words motivated me and gave me courage. Though he is younger than me, he has a very big heart. He loves and cares for everyone,” Jagapathi Babu said, adding that Prabhas treats people with warmth regardless of age, status or professional standing.
The duo have collaborated on several films, including Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire and Radhe Shyam.
Jagapathi Babu praises SS Rajamouli’s humility
Apart from praising Prabhas, Jagapathi Babu also spoke about filmmaker SS Rajamouli and his family, calling them humble and grounded despite their success.
“Even after winning many awards, Rajamouli remains humble and grounded. He has no ego at all, and his entire family is the same. They treat everyone with care and affection,” he said.
The actor further praised Rajamouli’s professional approach and said the filmmaker chooses actors purely based on what suits the character.
“Rajamouli selects the actors based on suitability to the character and not because of closeness to him,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jagapathi Babu is preparing for the release of Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film stars Ram Charan in the lead alongside Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyenndu. The makers recently unveiled Jagapathi Babu’s first-look poster from the film, where he plays the character Appalasoori.
Peddi, a Telugu sports drama, is set to release globally on June 4.
