Janhvi wins hearts with Telugu speech at Peddi event, recreates Sridevi's dialogue

Withjust two days left for the release of Peddi, the makers of the Ram Charan-led film, held a pre-release event in Vijayawada, where Janhvi Kapoor drew loud applause from the audience for her speech in Telugu. It became one of the main talking points of the evening.

Janhvi, who plays Achiyamma in the film, thanked the audience for their support and spoke about the film's message. She said Peddi is a special film for the team and described it as a story about staying true to one's identity and finding purpose in life.

Her Telugu speech was loosely translated as: "I am truly thrilled by the love you have been showering on me. I only hope you continue to show the same love after watching Peddi. It is this affection that gives us the strength to work hard every single day. Everything we do is for you — to entertain you and bring stories to the big screen. Peddi is a very special film for all of us. At its heart, it is about staying true to your identity and discovering the purpose of your life."

The evening also witnessed a bittersweet moment when host Suma Kanakala asked Janhvi to recreate the well-known Manava Manava dialogue from Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, which starred her late mother Sridevi alongside Chiranjeevi. Janhvi did so in her own style, drawing applause from the audience.

Directed by Buchi Babu, Peddi stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles and is set for a nationwide release on June 4.
