K Rajan was a multi-faceted person who contributed to Tamil cinema as a producer, writer, director and actor. He began his career in the industry by producing Brammacharigal in 1983. Some of his production ventures include Doubles, Aval Paavam and Ninaikoatha Naaliai.

In 1991, he debuted as a director with Nizhalgal Ravi and Sarathkumar’s Namma Ooru Maariamma and went on to helm Unarchigal in 2005. He also wrote the stories of Thangamana Thangachi and Unarchigal.

Some of his acting projects include Michael Raj, Sonthakkaran, Veettoda Maapillai, Paambu Saatai, Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu and Selvaraghavan’s Bakasuran.

K Rajan was known for being outspoken with his statements on cinema.
