Sivakarthikeyan's Seyon begins with puja, makers share new intense poster
Sivakarthikeyan has started work on Seyon, directed by Sivakumar Murugesan and backed by Raaj Kamal Films International. The film has drawn attention for its rural action setting, mythological undertones, and echoes of Kamal Haasan's Virumaandi.

Sivakarthikeyan, after the period film Parasakthi, is gearing up for another rural action drama with Seyon. Directed by Sivakumar Murugesan and produced by Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran under Raaj Kamal Films International, the film officially went on floors with a puja ceremony.
The makers announced the update on X, describing the beginning of the shoot as a celebration. The project also marks Sivakarthikeyan’s return to Raaj Kamal Films International after the success of Amaran, which emerged as both a critical and commercial success.
The makers released a video titled Journey Begins Tomorrow, featuring Sivakarthikeyan meeting Kamal Haasan and the entire team, including director Sivakumar Murugesan, Bhagyashri Borse, and other key members of the film’s crew.
Sivakarthikeyan’s character is gradually introduced as a feared yet revered figure, with locals referring to him as “Lord Virumandi”, directly evoking memories of Kamal Haasan’s iconic role from the 2004 film Virumandi. The teaser presents Sivakarthikeyan in a rugged and fiery avatar, blending spirituality, folklore, and mass action elements.
Billed as a grand rural commercial entertainer, Seyon aims to combine rooted emotions with large-scale action and mass appeal. The film also features Bala Saravanan in a key role, with Santhosh Narayanan composing the music.
Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara. He also earned praise recently for backing Thaai Kizhavi, starring Radikaa Sarathkumar and directed by Sivakumar Murugesan in his directorial debut, which emerged as both a critical and commercial success.
