Directed by RJ Balaji, Karuppu recently emerged as the highest-grossing film of Suriya’s career. During the same interaction, the actor also revealed that he had signed the film almost immediately after hearing the narration.

“I committed to the project in less than an hour, fully trusting RJ Balaji’s vision. Positive things began happening from the very day I signed on for the film,” he said.

Suriya further reflected on the scale of the film’s response, admitting that even the team had not anticipated its massive reach. “I anticipated success, but the massive scale of the achievement has far surpassed our greatest expectations,” he added.

In an earlier interview, director RJ Balaji had spoken about carefully planning the film’s release strategy. The filmmaker revealed that he turned down multiple release dates, including January and February windows, because he believed a May release would work best for the film.
