A lookout notice has been issued against Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra in a Rs 60-crore fraud case. The case relates to their 2015 venture, Best Deal TV, launched with Akshay Kumar, which sold lifestyle, health, fashion, and beauty products. Businessman Deepak Kothari alleged that the couple persuaded him to route Rs 60.48 crore as an ‘investment’ instead of a loan, promising monthly returns and principal repayment, but later failed to return the funds. Shilpa Shetty resigned as director in 2016, and insolvency proceedings against Best Deal TV began in 2017. Earlier this year, the couple faced another allegation of defrauding an investor in a gold scheme. On September 5, the Economic Offences Wing issued the lookout notice citing their frequent international travel.
