Missing woman's skeleton found in her locked house

The skeleton of a missing woman was discovered sealed inside her locked house in Siliguri, West Bengal, on June 27, 2025 — seven months after she disappeared. The remains are believed to be those of Pasang Doma Sherpa, a teacher from Banchi, Sikkim, who vanished in January this year. Pasang, who reportedly stayed in Siliguri, was last seen at her residence before she went missing. Acting on fresh intelligence, Sikkim Police forcibly entered her locked house and found skeletal remains, which have now been sent for post-mortem and DNA analysis to confirm identity.
