Vedanta-Foxconn semiconductor deal: Plans for $19.5 billion Joint Venture to make electronic chips dropped 

In September 2022, the Centre hailed Vedanta and Foxconn’s semiconductor manufacturing plant in Gujarat as a landmark. And even Foxconn seemed excited. Then what changed in less than a year that Foxconn is now dropping plans for a $19.5 billion joint venture with Vedanta to make electronic chips? This comes as a huge blow to India which is pushing for building semiconductors in India.
