External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar articulated India's stance on issues of extremism, sovereignty, and territorial integrity at the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). In his speech, delivered against the backdrop of escalating tensions between India and Canada, the EAM indirectly criticized the selective nature of Western responses to these issues. "Nor must we countenance that political convenience determines responses to terrorism, extremism, and violence. Similarly, respect for territorial integrity and non-interference in internal affairs cannot be exercised in cherry-picking," Jaishankar said.
