War of word over Gujarat bridge collapse; MLA canteen caterer's licence suspended

A war of words has erupted over the bridge collapse in Vadodara, Gujarat, with Shiv Sena (UBT) mouthpiece Saamana slamming the so-called Gujarat model. The editorial claimed the incident exposed the model's weaknesses, calling it a failure in infrastructure safety and governance.

The Maharashtra FDA on Wednesday suspended the licence of Ajanta Caterers, which operates the canteen at Mumbai's Akashwani MLA hostel. The action comes a day after Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad was caught on camera assaulting a canteen staffer over allegedly being served stale food.
