Israel claims Iran security chief dead; Afghan-Pak border erupts after hospital strike

Tensions are rising across the Middle East as military actions expand in Iran and Afghanistan. Benjamin Netanyahu said an Israeli strike near Tehran killed Iran’s de facto leader Ali Larijani and Basij commander Ghulam Reza Soleimani, following the earlier death of Ali Khamenei. The wider conflict has triggered missile and drone attacks in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, disrupting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Pakistan said strikes under “Operation Ghazib-ul-Haq” targeted militants in Kabul, though Afghan officials claim a hospital attack killed around 400 people. India has condemned the incident.
