Joshimath crisis: Disaster management team submits report to CM Dhami, suggests survey of soil; more

The disaster management team submitted a report to Uttarakhand's Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, suggesting that heavily damaged houses should be razed. It also suggested conducting a survey of soil and its strength. Locals in the town have preferred to stay outdoors, battling the winter chills after several houses and more than 600 other buildings developed cracks. A sinking Joshimath has given a tough time to the authorities as well, who have shifted nearly 70 affected families, while the work to relocate many others is underway.
