Covishield vaccine from Serum Institute sent to 13 cities

The first consignment of Covishield left the Serum Institute of India around 5 am today. The consignment reported consisted 478 vaccine boxes, each weighing 32kg. These vaccines are being transported to 13 locations across the country, from where they will be further distributed. These locations include Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Karnal, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guwahati, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Bhubaneswar.

The first consignment of the Covid-19 vaccine has arrived at Ahmedabad's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. Gujarat Deputy CM Nitin Patel was present at the airport to receive it. The consignment of 7.95 lakh vials of Covidshield vaccine from Serum Institute of India, Pune arrived in Bengaluru as well. Each dose of vaccine contains 0.5 ml and each vial contains 10 dosages of vaccines.
