Death toll in Bihar due to encephalitis rises to 103

The death toll in Bihar due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) has crossed 100 in Muzaffarpur district. The disease mostly affects children and is colloquially called as the 'chamki bukhar'.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has lately been reviewing the situation in Muzaffarpur and has directed the setting up of a research institute to find reasons of its spreading.
