Hathras horror: Are anti-terror laws being misused?

The UP Police has slapped the dreaded Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) on the four alleged PFI activists, including a Kerala journalist, held from Mathura. The police claimed that they were planning to create trouble in Hathras over the alleged gang rape and murder of a 19-year-old Dalit girl. However, the wife of journalist Siddique Kappan has rejected the charges.

So, the question is, are anti-terror laws being misused in UP and beyond?
